After holding management positions with two major corporations and two consulting companies, Dale Dauten created a nationally-known marketing research firm retained by top industry leaders, including McDonalds, Procter & Gamble, AT&T, Kodak and 3M.

In 1991, Dale began writing a weekly business newspaper column called The Corporate Curmudgeon.

Within a year, the country's largest syndication company, King Features, had taken the column into national distribution.

The Corporate Curmudgeon currently appears in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Chicago Tribune, Arizona Daily Star, Arizona Republic and dozens of other papers.

In 1996, Dale undertook a second column, which focuses on career issues. Also syndicated by King Features, this column was initially written with employment expert Mark Nelson. At the beginning of 1999, Dale began co-authoring Kate and Dale Talk Jobs with Kate Wendleton, a nationally recognized authority on career development. Their column has been adopted by the New York Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Houston Chronicle and over 100 others, making it the most successful new column in the country over the past few years.

In addition to his columns, Dale has authored four books on career issues, effective management and innovation. Right now, he's hard at work on his fifth book.
